If you’re building a game (or a studio), there’s a good chance you’ll have to pitch it—whether that’s to investors, publishers, grant panels, or platform reps. And while a solid deck is about way more than looks, design does matter.
Good design isn’t just about aesthetics. It’s about credibility, clarity, and confidence.
Here’s how we think about brand design for decks that don’t just look pretty, but actually do the work.
Show Them You’re Serious
First impressions happen fast. If your deck looks polished, structured, and on purpose, investors are more likely to believe the rest of your pitch is too.
That doesn’t mean you need a full brand book or a marketing site. But you do need:
- A strong logo (even a temp one that doesn’t look temp)
- A clear color and type system
- Visual consistency across slides
- Slide layouts that feel intentional, not hacked together
Even minimal decks benefit from clean design. Less chaos = more focus on your idea.
Tell a Visual Story
Your deck should reflect what makes your game or studio distinct. That could be:
- Mood (gritty? whimsical? weird and crunchy?)
- Genre (cozy sim, rogue shooter, puzzle-platformer)
- Values (diverse cast, accessible gameplay, sustainability angle)
Design becomes shorthand. A bold, high-contrast deck says something different from a soft, dreamy one—even if the words are the same.
Let the visuals reinforce the pitch.
Make Info Easy to Scan
You’re walking someone through this. But they might skim it later. Or forward it to someone else. Design can help make sure your message sticks:
- Use visuals to break up text
- Highlight key data points
- Design callouts for standout moments (awards, dev experience, wishlist numbers, etc.)
- Avoid dumping raw screenshots—frame them with intention
Investors are busy. Help them get to “yes” faster.
What We Help With
We’ve worked with teams to:
- Develop mini brand kits for pitches
- Design deck templates that scale with your studio
- Illustrate slides or environments for mood
- Create custom icons, UI mockups, and trailer thumbnails
Sometimes you just need a glow-up to look investor-ready. We get that.
Need eyes on your deck? We’d love to help. Whether it’s a full pitch brand or just getting your vibe across, we’re here. Talk to us about your pitch.
